Typically the Watercooler is a place where employees congregate and discuss the inner goings on of their workplace. In the City of Lake Worth where there are water fountains, refrigerators and vending machines we might find the same open source of conversation and hope city employees will add to this page with some of this conversation.
Please remember this is only conversation an does not imply fact but it might help the rest of us get a feel for what is going on behind the scenes at the city.

Code Director still at it! Not only has Armand Harnois proved to be an incompetent but continues his reign of hostility and harassment not only in word and manner but deed by posting a cartoon image of a supervisor shooting an employee asking for overtime. This cartoon might seem funny to the average person but placed at the entrance of his office he again displays his lack of sensitivity for those that work under his despotism. (see article on News) If he would work as hard on code compliance issues as he does to undermine the heart and mind of code employees the department would become a productive city entity again. Previous complaints to the city have gone unanswered for all intent and purpose. Someone needs to follow up on this.

Most of us employees are looking over our shoulder to see who is watching us! Those of us that need our jobs are in fear of losing it! I have spoken to people from just about every department in the city and we all have the same concern! JOB SECURITY AT THE MERCY OF SUPERVISION!

All employees are under strict orders, subject to termination, not to speak to the public, commisssioners or anyone else. Per the City Manager.

Hostile environment still exists within the Code Compliance Department. Mr. Harnois, Code Director, continues to create a hostile workplace for his staff. He recently gave four of his employees written warnings accussing the employees of making mistakes. This happened within a two week period when Mr. Harnois was in one of his moods. After blowing up several times to his staff he decided to take out his frustrations by giving written warnings to his staff. Mr. Harnois is again displaying his parnoid side; stating that Ms. Laura Hannah is out to get him. Therefore, he tries to intimate his staff, because of his own needs to feel powerfull.
